Covid Booster?

Covid Booster?

I was recently offered another Covid booster but I won’t be having another one for now, I’d rather totally avoid other people if necessary.

I’d been taking Lenalidomide for six months without any problem. Then I had my fourth Covid booster. I started losing weight immediately. Within a month I’d lost a stone despite trying to eat more and more. Then I spent a night in hospital with an atrial fibrillation and was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, hence the rapid weight loss. My thyroid was then over-treated and became very underactive. I now have to take thyroxine every day. I had a few AF episodes afterwards but that seems to have settled down now. The original AF was quite scary, 150BPM and irregular for several hours, but the duty doctors in Haematology were brilliant.

I really could’ve done without all that. Weight loss is terrifying for a cancer patient. My Haematology Consultant was concerned enough to send me for a PET-CT scan. Maybe it was coincidence and not the Covid booster. Maybe it was the Lenalidomide, but I took it for six months before and six months afterwards without any problem. Maybe it was an interaction between the two. Who knows. But definitely no more Covid boosters for me for the moment.
